Boardroom is an original satirical comedy written by CiCi Hughes, co-directed by CiCi Hughes and Evie King and produced by Ava. It centres around the creation of 2000s reality tv shows such as Wife Swap and Fat Families.
The show was originally written in 2023 before being chosen by Bristol Spotlights to represent the society at the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Ava was invited to join the team in March and came on board as the shows new producer.
Boardroom presented a series of previews at the Alma Tavern Theatre on the 22nd May before heading to Edinburgh, where they performed from the 12th-17th August at Greenside’s George Street venue.
Alongside producing the show, Ava also embraced the role of the shows technician while up in Edinburgh, programming and running the tech for each show.
Boardroom was a large success, performing to multiple sold out audiences and receiving a number of 4* reviews from multiple reviewers – reviews
Before their arrival at the fringe, the Boardroom team also attracted attention from local Bristolian press, with Bristol 24/7 writing up about the play.
Ava absolutely loved this opportunity to work with a whole new team and take this brilliant show to the Ed Fringe and cannot wait to see what other opportunities arise with Spotlights in the future.
